An ABAD delegation visited the Build Asia International Exhibition & Conference at the Expo Center, Karachi. The delegation included Vice Chairman ABAD Tariq Azia, Chairman Southern Region Ahmed Owais Thanvi, along with former Chairman ABAD Junaid Ashraf Talon, former Vice Chairman ABAD Rixwan Adhia, and former Chairmen (Southern Region) Engr. Danish Bin Rauf and Raheel Rinch. The delegation met industry stakeholders and reviewed the latest developments in the construction sector.

Recognizing skills and strengthening Pakistan’s workforce , Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan , in collaboration with National Vocational Technical Training Commission , successfully conducted an RPL certification activity, through their training partner, Trace Pakistan.
Through this initiative, 11 plumbers were formally certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program in collaboration with Popular Pipes Group.

On January 20, 2026, at ABAD House, the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) signed an MoU with Landtrack.pk, the organising force behind the 6th PropTech Convention, to strengthen Pakistan’s real estate ecosystem through technology and industry collaboration. The ceremony was attended by Syed Afzal Hameed (Senior Vice Chairman, ABAD), Ahmed Owais Thanvi (Chairman Southern Region, ABAD), Atif Arafin (Founder, Landtrack.pk & PropTech Convention), and Hira Naeem (Convener, PropTech Convention).

On January 14, 2026, a five-member delegation from ABAD, led by Senior Vice Chairman Syed Afzal Hameed and Convener of Vocational Training Program Suleman Saleem, including ABAD member Jaan Muhammad Jeewa, visited NUTECH Islamabad to sign a Letter of Intent. The delegation was received by Brigadier Salman Zafar, Registrar NUTECH and was later introduced to Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz (Retired), Rector NUTECH, Islamabad, for a detailed briefing.

A meeting was held on 7 January 2026 with Deputy Commissioner East, Mr. Nasrullah Abbasi to discuss valuation issues in Scheme 33 in light of members’ complaints. The meeting was attended by Chairman Southern Region ABAD Ahmed Owais Thanvi and Former VC Nusrat Mirza Chughtai, wherein key concerns of the members were discussed.

A committee meeting was held at the commissioner karachi Office under the chairmanship of the Provincial Minister for Sindh Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, to discuss long-term solutions for addressing the issue of dangerous and most dangerous buildings in Sindh.
The meeting was attended by ABAD Vice Chairman Tariq Aziz, Chairman Southern Region Ahmed Owais Thanvi, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, Director General Sindh Building Control Authority Muzammil Halipoto along with other committee members, where key matters were deliberated.
