It is an honour to once again serve as Chairman of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD). Having previously served in this position, I return with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by our members and the importance of constructive engagement with government and regulatory institutions.
Since its establishment in 1972, ABAD has played an important role in representing the builders and developers of Pakistan. Our industry contributes significantly to economic activity, employment, housing and investment, and deserves a supportive and transparent business environment.
During my present tenure, our focus will be on addressing the practical issues faced by our members, particularly those relating to land and development matters, approvals, taxation, utilities, regulatory procedures and the overall cost of construction.
As Chairman of ABAD, I will make every possible effort to solve the problems faced by builders and developers, and especially the problems affecting the people of Karachi. I will raise these issues with the concerned authorities and work towards practical solutions for better water, sewerage, electricity, law and order, and development services.
We will continue to maintain meaningful dialogue with federal and provincial governments, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to seek practical and workable solutions to industry concerns.
At the same time, ABAD will encourage responsible development and promote greater coordination, transparency and professionalism within the sector.
I am confident that with the cooperation of our members and the support of relevant institutions, we can strengthen the role of ABAD and contribute towards a more stable and progressive construction and real estate sector.
I look forward to working together with our members and stakeholders in the larger interest of the industry and Pakistan’s economic development.
